“Feed my sheep…Emily, feed my sheep.”

“What, God? What are you saying?”

“Feed my sheep.”

“God, it is like 11 p.m., I think the sheep can wait.”

“Emily, listen to me. Feed my sheep.”

“God! Why do you want me to go feed sheep? I mean, isn’t that what farmers are for?”

“No, Emily. Not sheep as in the animal. Sheep as in the people I have placed around you.”

“Oh, like that story in the Bible with Peter?”

“Yes. Emily, do you love me?”

“You bet!”

“Emily, do you love me?”

“Yes, God…ummm, you just asked me that question.”

“Emily, do you love me?”

“YES! Jesus I love you with my entire heart and soul.”

“Feed my sheep.”

“I see where you are going with this.”

“Do you?”

“OK, maybe not.”

“Emily, if you really love me, then I must be your first priority. Nothing else matters–if you love me. And if you truly love me, then you would want to tell those around you about me.”

“I think I am starting to get this.”

“I will never leave you or forsake you. I created you from nothing and made you into a masterpiece, a one-of-a-kind creation. I created you left-handed for a reason. I created you with brown hair and big brown eyes for a purpose. I created you with a passion for different cultures for a specific design. Nothing about you is an accident. Nothing.”

“Wow, so you just blew my socks off there. You created me exactly how you wanted me to be?”

“Exactly.”

“And you are saying that you created me with the specific gifts and talents that I have so that I can tell others about you?”

“Yes.”

“Wow. God, I don’t always know what to say or when to say it.”

“I know. That is why I am with you.”

“So, how do I start?”

“Emily, you begin with a heart that is passionately in love with me.”

“OK. Jesus, I want to love you with every fiber of my being. With every breath that escapes my lungs, I want to bring honor and glory to your Name. Help me, Lord. I cannot feed your sheep alone. I love you Jesus and thank you for choosing me to be Yours.”
