By this stage in your life, you are probably realizing (at least I hope you are) that life is FULL of choices! There are the little choices we make everyday and the big choices that we may only make once or twice in our lifetimes. But so many of the choices that we face in life we simply don’t make. “Whoa, wait a minute Emily,” you may be thinking, “what in the world are you talking about? I thought you were going to talk about the importance of making choices like doing our homework or who we date. What are you talking about???” OK, I know what you were expecting, but did you ever stop to think about all of the little things that we don’t do everyday that we should choose to do? Like really spending time with Jesus, and I mean actively not passively! And what about taking care of ourselves–exercising and eating healthy. And then there are decisions like choosing to watch TV instead of studying for a big test.
So many times we choose to do what we shouldn’t do or neglect what we should do. Like going for that extra cupcake when we know that we really do need to lose weight or sleeping in those extra five minutes instead of spending quality time talking to God. My challenge for you and me is to take some time assessing what we should be doing and just start doing them! As Nike says, “Just do it”! Get up off the couch and get going. Start doing those things that you are neglecting and wishing that you did.
Go ahead, just get up and dance. I dare you.
