A Beautiful Ending…

 In Blog

“We were working so hard for God, that we forgot God in the process.” I love this Barlowgirl song, “Beautiful Ending”….it is so easy to get caught in the trap of “doing for” God & having the mindset that God should be thankful that we are on His team because of our gifts or assets, when in reality we have totally missed the mark! God wants us to intimately know Him….and be crazy in love with Him! It’s not about what we do or don’t do, it’s about HIM! At Church of Hope we are on a journey of answering the call, “Come Follow Me.” Who is Jesus…really? Who is Jesus to me? Is He a match-maker? A teacher? A provider? A doctor? Or is He my Lord and Saviour whom I can’t get enough of? Is my life really all about Him? Or has it been all about me….my wants…my needs…my desires? God is radically changing me….the call to follow Christ is radical…out of the box…definitely not ordinary. If I want to stay comfortable, I need to run away from this man we call Jesus Christ. Following Him is anything but comfortable. At the end of my life, I want to have a beautiful ending…and ending wrapped solely in His arms.

Join the journey, “Come Follow Me,” by watching online at Church of Hope or download to your iPod.

Last night I was having a bit of a breakdown from current events in my life, I was crying uncontrollably, praying harder than I have in a long, long time… I was asking for God’s help to give me strength or to show me something new in my life. Seconds later, I received a text from a good family friend of mine, Christa Parodi. It simply said “Have your met Emily Cummins?”

You see, I babysat for her 2 youngest kids on Tuesday night. I was talking with her when she got home about some current hardships going on in my life with my family right now. I was also explaining how I’ve been going to Church of Hope for the past few months–the same church her parents go.

We got to talking a little bit more and she said to check out your blog–reading some entries today have really given me encouragement! She may be giving you my phone number, but I’d really love to meet you and become more involved with the college group at HOPE.

God works in wonderful ways! Have a blessed day.

Hey Emily! ooh, I looove BarlowGirl, and this song Beautiful Ending is amazing! I agree w/ everything you said, so true! 😉 It’s not always easy to follow Jesus, but in the end, it’s more than worth it! and we should always seek Him simply for who He is, and not for what He can gives us, right?! 🙂 I loved the posts below too, I also loove Britt Nicole, and Hanging On it’s a beautiful song! so good to know someone else who likes BarlowGirl and Britt Nicole! 😀 I don’t know if you remeber me, but I’m the girl from Brazil who sent you an e-mail longe time ago… I’m now living in Florida! 🙂 well I have just startes a new blog if you wanna check it out: http://be-allegro.blogspot.com/ ;D God bless you!
