Beauty from Pain

Share Article

Normally we don’t associate beauty with pain, right? In our society, pain equals not good and beauty equals everything the world has to offer. As human beings, we will go through pain! Hello, it is called life. Life throws us curve balls. How we respond to those curve balls is what’s important. John Maxwell once said, “What really matters is what happens in me, not to me.” Man that is so true! Our peers tell us to take the easy route in life. God tells us to walk on the narrow path. Superchic[k] has a fabulous song entitled Beauty from Pain. Their song depicts the life of a struggling girl trying to survive just one day. Pain is real. Pain hurts. That old saying, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me” is a total LIE! Words hurt and people can hurt us tremendously. However, how we respond to those people who hurt us is essential to growing into the beautiful girls that God has called us to be. Dr. Mark Cummins stated, “Hurting people hurt people.” The people who hurt you are, in reality, hurting on the inside. Instead of being mean back, show them genuine love and forgiveness. Then they will really wonder why you are so different. Pain hurts right now, but trust Jesus to lead you from pain to beauty. Let Him be your guide and your light. Let Him be your confidence. Put your trust in Jesus and He will never fail you.

Beauty from Pain
The lights go out all around me
One last candle to keep out the night
And then the darkness surrounds me
I know I’m alive
But I feel like I’ve died
And all that’s left is to accept that it’s over
My dreams ran like sand through the fists that I made
I try to keep warm but I just grow colder
I feel like I’m slipping away
After all this has passed I still will remain
After I’ve cried my last
There’ll be beauty from pain
Though it won’t be today
Someday I’ll hope again
And there’ll be beauty from pain
You will bring beauty from my pain
My whole world is the pain inside me
The best I can do is just get through the day
When life before is only a memory
I wonder why God let me walk through this place
And though I can’t understand why this happened
I know that I will when I look back someday
And see how You’ve brought beauty from ashes
And made me as gold purified through these flames
Here and I am at the end of me (at the end of me)
Trying to hold to what I can’t see
I forgot how to hope
This night’s been so long
I cling to your promise there will be a dawn
