Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.

Asking for forgiveness is pretty hard. OK, it isn’t just pretty hard–forgiveness can be down right painful! We never like to admit that we are wrong or that we didn’t have the best judgement in a situation. But Jesus calls us to be reconciled with those around us. We need to keep good relationships. Now, I do understand that someone may not accept your apology. People can get mad and refuse to forgive. You have done your part of trying to make the relationship better, trust Jesus to take care of the rest. Asking for someone’s forgiveness takes courage. Let Jesus be your strength. Set aside all of your excuses and obey Jesus’ calling today.
