For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

As a driver, it is essential to have a map in my car. If I were to get lost, then my map would help me find my way home. The same is true with God’s Word, the Bible. The Bible is not some dusty, old-fashioned book that is only filled with do’s and dont’s. While the Bible does have some very important commandments, it also holds essential keys to life. As a Christian, we must literally “marinate” ourselves in the Word of God. OK, so I don’t mean take BBQ sauce and pour it all over you while you read the Bible. I mean meditate on the Bible. Read over a verse a couple times and apply it to your life. Don’t just read one verse, shut your Bible and say, “Yep, that was good readin‘ today!” Actually take the time to think about what God is teaching you. Read God’s Word, meditate on it and memorize. Believe me, you won’t be disappointed!
