One Hundred-Fold Harvest

Share Article

Luke chapter eight analyzes the different ways that people respond to the Word of God. This parable deals with how people expose themselves to Scripture. They will either respond to God’s teaching as if they were being choked by weeds, trampled on, wither up, or yield a crop one hundred-folds greater than before. That is a HUGE amount!! Can you imagine what your life could look like if you were yielding yourself one hundred times more to God than you were right now?

Yielding a One Hundred-Fold Harvest is all about having confidence and competence in God’s Word. The whole passage in Luke even begins by affirming women that we are “women of substance” (verse 3)!

To yield a harvest, you must first break up any unploud ground in your life. What is the “no man’s land” in your heart that you don’t want to give over in surrender to Jesus Christ?

So how do you yield a One Hundred-Fold Harvest?

1. Treasure the Wonder. (vs. 10)

*Recapture the wonder of God’s Word.

*2 Timothy 3:16-17 says that “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

*That verse tells us that we can be competently competent if we are rooted in God’s Word.

2. Protect my Heart. (vs. 12)

*At the conference, we learned a pretty cool thing–when you hear God say something to you, put your hand over your heart to symbolize that you are protecting your heart from the devil.

3. Expect the Test.

*”When the season of testing exceeds the season of believing, we are headed toward a season of falling.”

*We will be tested to see if we actually believe the Words that we are reading.

*What abides in you will stay with you while you are at work and your Bible is at home.

*Prepare yourself for the test ahead by writing verses on notecards. You need to have positive words of encouragement to help you perservere under trials!

4. Dig the Roots.

*Do you truly know and really believe that God loves you tremendously?

5. Stop the Choke.

*Anxiety, riches, and pleasure can all choke us from reaching God’s great potential for our lives.

*Be a warrior, not a worrier!

6.Retain the Word.

*Ask God for one verse to jump off the page that can encourage you for the rest of the day!

7. Press forth to my 100-Fold Harvest.

*A harvest doesn’t come now; you have to sow the seeds first.

*Don’t quit before the harvest comes!
