There have been many moments when I have asked God, “Why me?” and wondered why He is using a simple girl named Emily. I am in sheer amazement at the opportunities that He has given me and everything that He has blessed me with. Through my conversations with Jesus, I have learned to be content with being simply Emily. God can use me more effectively when I am who He created me to be. If I try to act all Spiritual or better than I really am, then I cannot be used to my full potential.
One of the reasons why I named my blog Simply Emily is because I am really learning to be content with being simply Emily! Also, I am an ordinary girl just like you. I am striving to be a girl after His own heart and I believe you are too! I am not this great philosopher who has all the answers to life–I am the farthest thing from that (I can barely understand Algebra II!). I have just prayed, “Here I am Lord, use me.” And He has. He can use you too. The only thing that Jesus requires is a willing heart. He will equip you with the skills you need to do His will. Believe me, I am not talented at all! I rely on Jesus to give me the strength that I need every day.
