dear journal,
God has been teaching me some amazing things lately. one thing that He has just been reinforcing in my life is the very simple (yet profound) fact that He alone can sit in the driver’s seat in my life. when i try to control my life i am not satisfied…..i cannot do life on my own. i need Jesus to lead me.
Matthew 16:24-26 says Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You’re not in the driver’s seat; I am. Don’t run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I’ll show you how. Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self. What kind of deal is it to get everything you want but lose yourself? What could you ever trade your soul for?
i can’t lead Jesus. only He can lead me. when i take my life into my own hands, i am not confident, satisfied, or happy. i am stressed out, anxious, and nervous. i can’t lead my life. only Jesus Christ can. when i give Him control of the steering wheel, i am confident in who i am in Christ. and that is what is gives me true joy and satisfaction.
