Meet Allison Teicher-Fahrbach:

Allison Teicher-Fahrbach is the Director of Curriculum Development at Windows of Opportunity, Inc. – The Barbara Harmon Institute. Allison has extensive experience in curriculum design, having developed and taught various subjects from Creative Writing to Forensic Science and College-Level Psychology. She has a New York State teaching license in English (7-12) and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (K – 12), School Building Leadership (SBL), and School District Leadership (SDL). Allison has a Master’s Degree in Curriculum Development and Instructional Technology and a Master’s Degree in School Leadership. In addition to her duties as an English teacher, she is also the English Language Learner (ELL) Coordinator at a high school in Queens, NY. Within the school, Allison has also acquired countless grants and awards, works as the Data Aggregation Specialist on the Social Emotional Learning Team, and writes policy for the school at large. She has also held Summa Cum Laude status in her academics as a Kappa Delta Pi and Golden Key International Honour Society member. Allison was nominated for the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) Showcase Teacher Award and the 2019 Chancellor’s Award in Student Excellence. She is the Editor-in-Chief of two editions of the Queens College Journal of Jewish Studies, received the Award of Excellence in English Education from Queens College in 2016, and received the distinction of Exemplary Educator from Queens College in 2018. Her published books include Be Your Own Hero, Peace with a Purpose, The Lighthouse, and Solutions for Souls. Allison has spoken about educational reform and teaching on many panels and forums at Queens College and Touro College, and is currently working on an Education policy framework. Allison is currently working on a dissertation based on trauma-informed education through Liberty University’s Educational Leadership Ph.D. program; she foresees that she will be defending her dissertation in late 2023.
