I had the privilege of spending some time with Lauren Johnson, a missionary for the Navigators, before she flew to Indonesia for the summer.
As we sat sipping tea and mint frappucinos, we talked about life: school, friends, guys, college, etc. But then Lauren pulled out her Bible and proceeded to turn to Psalm 139. She flipped to the last two verses and we began to break them down into bight-size pieces that we could actually wrap our minds around! The verses go something like this: “Search me O God and know my heart. Test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way of everlasting.” Those two little verses have so much in them! God already knows everything about us, but He wants us to ask for His help. He already knows what we are struggling with, but He wants us to invite Him in on the process. Hmmm…..those are some pretty good thoughts. All we have to do is ask God. Period.
