What Does Christmas Mean to Me?

Share Article

Today as I reflected on everything that we talked about at church this morning, I thought about what Christmas really means to me. Christmas is more than just “another holiday”. Christmas is the birth of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! It is so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season with the giving and receiving of gifts, parties, and family gatherings. It is so easy to forget the real meaning of Christmas. Christmas is the time of Jesus’ birth, but it means so much more than that. I like how one of my small group teachers stated it, “Jesus was born to die.” Without the birth of Christ, He wouldn’t have died for our sins. Jesus literally came to this earth with the intention to be tortured, beaten, and crucified. I don’t know anyone with that kind of love for me!

This Christmas as I reflect on Jesus love, I am so thankful for who He has created me to be. He truly has blessed me with so much. I still cannot even believe how many experiences He has given me. On days that I feel “unloved” and “unworthy” I remember the birth of a baby boy who loved me enough to die just for me.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.”
~John 3:16
