Uprooting & Planting

Before stepping into 2020, I prayed, asking God for a ‘word’ to focus on for the year to come. Little did I know just how much I would need the word He imprinted on my heart: ROOTED. ?⁣

In months of upheaval, uncertainty & fresh perspective, ROOTED is the EXACT word I needed to lean into & grow in. Looking back, I am amazed, overwhelmed & so very thankful for the faithfulness of God—He sees so far beyond what I can see & has my very best planned… even when it’s difficult to see it just yet.⁣

This spot with coffee, my journal & Bible in hand has seen hours of:⁣

Uprooting…⁣
Negativity⁣
Insecurity⁣
Fear⁣
Anxiety⁣
Doubt⁣
⁣
And planting…⁣
The TRUTH of God’s Word⁣
His crazy love for me⁣
Confidence⁣
Fresh perspective ⁣
New dreams⁣
Hope⁣
Love⁣
⁣
Here, He is softening the soil of my heart & teaching me what it means to be ROOTED in Him… regardless of what life throws my way… regardless of what dreams don’t pan out… regardless of how I feel… regardless of what changes… regardless. ⁣

I am so far from “there” and have much uprooting & planting to do—but here, today, in this chair, I’m filled with deep gratitude for a Savior who loves me so much that He is interested in EVERY, LITTLE detail in my story… even down to knowing the exact word I needed to lean into in an uncertain time. ??⁣
